Many people validate their tickets for La Primitiva, EuroMillions, etc. playing always the same combination of numbers. Others, however, always play the same last figure in the National Lottery, Christmas Lottery, etc. The big question is: why do they do it? There are countless reasons, but the truth is that there are as many answers as people.
Since the moment we are born, there are important numbers that accompany us throughout our lives: our date of birth, our age, the date of a special event, our star sign, etc. Both numerology and astrology assign each person some specific lucky numbers.
Going back to the question of why many people validate their favourite game tickets of Loterias y Apuestas del Estando playing always the same combination of numbers, or playing always the same last number in the National Lottery, the answers are very diverse: because they simply like a specific last number or combination of numbers, due to superstition, or the fact that they consider those their lucky numbers, due to a special date, because they chose a random combination of numbers and they are afraid that someday that combination would be the winner… As already stated in the intro, there are as many answers as people.
Of course, neither numerology or astrology are sciences, so the goal of this post is to help you find out the numbers that could give you a good feeling when filling out a Bonoloto, La Primitiva, EuroMillions, etc. ticket, or when buying a tenth-share lottery ticket, numbers calculated in relation to important events of your life or assigned based on your zodiac sign.
Numerology is set a of beliefs and traditions that seeks to establish a hidden relationship between numbers, living beings and physical or spiritual forces. It is also a guessing practice through numbers. Its study was popular among early mathematicians, but of course nowadays it is not considered a mathematical discipline, but simply a traditional belief.

There are several ways of calculating the lucky number, but the 2 most popular ways of doing it are the following:
Having explained the most common ways of doing it, we are now going to use the maths to calculate our lucky number following some simple steps. We will do it in 2 different ways so that you can choose the method that you like the most, so let’s do it!
We are going to make the calculation using the date of birth 23 November 1988:
First, we convert the date into numbers: 23-11-1988
Next, we add all the numbers in the date: 2+3+1+1+1+9+8+8 = 33
Finally, we add the figures of the resulting number: 3+3 = 6
For this specific case, the magic number for the person born on this date will be number 6, and the final result must always be a single digit number.
We are going to make the calculations with the name “Joseph Smith”:
First of all, we convert the letters into numbers according to their alphabetical order number, which will therefore give us 10+15+19+5+16+8 for “Joseph”, and 19+13+9+20+8 for “Smith”.
Next, we add all the numbers of the full name: 10+15+19+5+16+8+19+13+9+20+8 = 142
Finally, we add the figures of the resulting number: 1+4+2 = 7
For this specific case, the magic number for the person with this name will be number 7.

These calculations are used to determinate your single-digit lucky number, but… what happens if you want to play, for example, El Gordo de la Primitiva, a game in which you have to choose 5 numbers between 1 and 54? Well, very simple: you will only have to choose numbers related to your magic number. Let’s fill out 2 tickets with the magic numbers calculated above:
If your calculated lucky number was 6, you can choose the combinations 15, 24, 33, 42 y 51 applying numerology again:
15: 1+5=6
24: 2+4=6
33: 3+3=6
42: 4+2=6
51: 5+1=6
If your calculated lucky number was 2, you can choose the combinations 11, 20, 29, 38 and 47 following the same method:
11: 1+1=2
20: 2+0=2
29: 2+9=11; 1+1=2
38: 3+8=11; 1+1=2
47: 4+7=11; 1+1=2
Astrology, in its broadest sense, is a set of traditions and beliefs that claims that it is possible to recognize or construct a meaning from celestial events and constellations, based on the interpretation of their correlation with terrestrial events; this parallelism is used as a guessing method. Like numerology, today it’s just another traditional belief.
The Western Zodiac is made up of 12 signs and each sign has its own lucky numbers, which are calculated by combining numerology and astrology.

Below, we show you your lucky numbers according to your Zodiac sign:
If you have already read this far, you know what to do: look for paper, pencil and a calculator, find out your lucky number according to the criteria that you like the most, transmit the right feeling to your ticket and make luck be on your side.
